Together with sister company Veli Vastgoed en Projectontwikkeling, HAAN Industrial Group has invested in making its premises in Meerssen more sustainable. 438 solar panels now generate green energy daily for HAAN's business activities, as well as for the surrounding area.
HAAN also supplies power back to the grid
"In HAAN 's case, the PV installation generates some 172,000 kWh of electricity annually. That's well more than we need ourselves, so we feed the green power back into the electricity grid. That fits in with our business philosophy, whereby in everything we do we ask ourselves how we can leave the world better for the next generation," says Mart Braun, managing director of HAAN Industrial Group. "Then it would be a shame not to use such a large roof surface for a better environment."
New Energy Systems 'fine sparring partner'
The solar panels were supplied and installed by New Energy Systems, a regional leader in renewable energy generation solutions. "New Energy Systems is a fine sparring partner, who thinks with you. They guided the process from A to Z: from subsidy application to installation and maintenance," said Giel Braun, property manager at Veli Vastgoed.
